Please Excuse Our Mess - The conference theme “EMS M*A*S*H BASH” also reflects that the Ruidoso Convention Center is under construction. Many months ago, an exciting makeover began at the Convention Center, with construction ongoing through most of 2010. However, we have constructed an “EMS M*A*S*H Compound” you’ll never forget! So, watch your step and please excuse our mess as our host town completes their own version of an “extreme makeover”! We think you’ll be pleased with the end result!

You’ll be sitting on top of the world taking in the many sights and infinite things to do in our cool conference location.
We wish you a wonderful EMS Region III 30th Year Celebration Conference experience, whether you’re in class or in the exhibit hall. We know you’re here to learn, but we also want you to relax and have fun. You can register online, by fax, or by mail. Register early to get your first choice! We encourage registering as early as possible to reduce costs and increase chances of getting into the desired sessions. Due to limited space, sessions fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Have a second choice in mind. A conference “dog tag” will be required to attend sessions. Tuition fees include refreshments, handouts, registration materials, all social events, entrance to the exhibit hall, door prize drawings, and certification of completion (CEs). Apply for the Volunteer EMT Scholarship Program!

EMS Region III, through the New Mexico Trauma System Fund, has been awarded funds for a Volunteer EMT Scholarship Program. The program aims to reward current NM volunteer EMT personnel for their fine service in protecting our communities. The program is intended to support and extend EMS training beyond a community or service’s normal capacity; enabling rural services and volunteer EMTs in NM to access training opportunities that are offered at the EMS Region III Conference, and which a training budget would normally not support. Julie Bacon, RN, BA has almost twenty years experience in emergency transport medicine. Her expertise is in the area of pediatric and neonatal transport, where she spent ten years in the development and hands-on management of the largest dedicated pediatric transport team in the State of Florida. She has logged over 1000 national and international missions, which include ground, rotor and fixed wing transports, and continues to fly with All Children’s Hospital Transport Team. Read more...

Heather Davis is the Program Director for the UCLA-Daniel Freeman Paramedic Education Program. Her previous position was the Education Program Director for Los Angeles County Fire Department where she managed primary EMT and continuing education programs for over 3000 EMT's and Paramedics. A former teacher and interpreter for the hearing impaired, Steve has published 10 EMS related cartoon books, "I'm Not An Ambulance Driver," since his escapades as a paramedic/EMS instructor began 22 years ago. Steve writes a monthly humor column for Jems magazine along with cartoon illustrations for both Jems and FireRescue magazines. Read more...

Dr. Beeson is the Associate Medical Director for the Emergency Physician’s Advisory Board, which provides medical oversight for the MedStar system in Fort Worth, TX. He has worked in all levels of Emergency Medicine starting as a Volunteer EMT, a Paramedic, a Registered Nurse, Flight Nurse, and now and Emergency Department Physician. He has been involved in EMS education for more than 15 years. Jeff can still be found today working a shift as a Paramedic on an ambulance in Fort Worth. Read more...

He is an original member and patent holder with the Vidacare team where he remains the director or education working extensively in product development, research and professional services. Scotty retired from his Flight Paramedic position with San Antonio AirLife where he had been flying critical care patients for 14 years. This position oversees the state’s Emergency Medical Services, Trauma, and Stroke programs. He has been the EMS Bureau Chief since June of 2007. Kyle has been involved in EMS for twenty-five years and a Paramedic since 1987. He has obtained patient care experience with several services over the years, including Albuquerque Ambulance Service, Lifeguard Air Medical Service, Taos County EMS, Town of Bernalillo EMS, and the Sandoval County Fire Department.
