Our Corporation

So you want to know who is behind the creation of EMS Region III? Well, the organization of Eastern New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Region III (EMS Region III) Corporation began in 1979, through a joint effort of the Eastern Plains Council of Governments and the Southeastern New Mexico Economic Development District. With the dedication and persistence of the agenices, EMS Region III became a reality, and operations began in 1980.

EMS Region III, Inc., a non-profit corporation, is implemented under the policy direction of a 12-member Board of Directors of Eastern New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Corporation. The corporation was incorporated September of 1981. The Board of Directors provides general guidance on goals, objectives, implementation strategies, financial matters and administrative policies.

EMS Region III has an established residence of 28-years in Clovis, New Mexico. EMS Region III is comprised of 12 counties, encompassing 40,216 square miles on the southeastern side and far northeast of New Mexico; 36% of the State's land area and 20% of the population. The regional office provides technical/advisory resources and leadership for multiple systems including Dispatch, EMS, Trauma Care, Public Health, Emergency Preparedness, Bioterrorism and Hospital Preparedness, and Injury Prevention in Chaves, Curry, De Baca, Eddy, Guadalupe, Harding, Lea, Lincoln, Lea, Otero, Quay, Roosevelt and Union counties.

Our Mission

The mission of the Eastern New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Corporation Region III (EMS Region III) is to develop, support, coordinate and regulate selected aspects of community-based systems and programs to prevent, mitigate and respond to injuries and other medical emergencies to reduce premature death and disability resulting from medical and traumatic emergencies through the coordination of local and regional EMS resources.

Employees: 7 - The core have always been here and others have left for greener pastures when they learned enough to leave the nest. Our team runs off an unlimited supply of coffee, Red Bull, Mexican food, Jelly Bellies and passion for our customers! At EMS Region III, our commitment to excellence is infectious! About Us

EMS Region 3 is one of three (3) statewide regional EMS offices which serves as a liaison between the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH), Emergency Medical Services Bureau (EMS Bureau) and the Bureau of Health Emergency Management, and twelve (12) counties in eastern New Mexico. The mission of EMS Region III is to reduce morbidity and mortaility by facilitating regional cooperation, planning and implementation of an integrated emergency care system.
